Mulch is the cheapest thing you can do that makes a whole house look cared for. Fresh dark mulch against green grass reads as maintained even if nothing else changed.
One cubic yard covers roughly 100 square feet at about three inches deep, which is the depth that actually slows weeds down. Thinner than that and you are just decorating. If you are not sure how much you need, send a photo of the beds and we will work it out.
Pricing that is not a mystery
Big companies quote $72 to $87 a yard installed. We are $55 to $75 because we are three guys with a trailer and not much overhead. The mulch itself is most of that cost, so this is one where there is not a lot of room to negotiate, and we will tell you that up front rather than pretend.
